Be kind to yourself and do what you feel is best. Does James know how much this disturbs you? It occurs to me that your housemate may not understand why you are feeling this way. Have y'all sat down and had a serious "family" talk? Perhaps he doesn't know or understand your situation. Sometimes it is best to have a cool head and put situations in perspective.
