Whenever I have a bruise or a steady/constant pain I always push on it to make it hurt. The theory is that I'll get more accustomed to the pain and then it won't be so painful; also that it's my choice/action to make it hurt and I'd prefer that to the sharp pain of accidentally pressing it on a table edge or something.
they are trying to help the muscle in ther get batter faster - it still very painful and it's seams to be makeing a small differnace in the legs kinda ..... some times it hurts to heal =)
