Aborist type people

any one know anything about how to take care of/trim bradford pears and silver Maple trees?

the pears need to be trimed and i need to figure out what the heck we should do with out poor maple

i can supply pictures if that help

All trees need to be trimmed at the base of the branch, as close to the trunk as it can be, so the branch can 'heal' over eventually. Some people tar the ends just in case, to keep out insects. And you need to be careful about cutting too many at once, because they can go into 'shock' and die. Particularly for your fruit trees, since they're more fragile than an average tree.

My tree-trimmer said it's sort of a gut-feeling about which branches need to go and which don't. Obviously any hanging near a house, over a car, etc, but beyond that, you're trying to keep a broccoli-head kind of appearance. Keep it sparse.
