No quotes from people of note - wonder why that is
Message from the boy today:
He wanted to know if I would be upset if her went away for 5 months - so he could change to being a commercial pilot- I being the silly woman that I am starts asking a million questions
Why you ask well b/c this is the 2nd or3rd time in less than 6 months that he has asked about this - and there by indicating to me that this IS something that he wants to do - so once I have questions answered like - will I get to see you while you are gone - can we afford to do this - will the bills get paid - I can say yes =) go for it -
Half way thru this conversation he types "I know - it's just a stupid dream" and I found my self at work almost in tears it's not a stupid dream - well if it is so are everyone else’s ;)
He could have gone to the navel academy - he had all the stuff you needed - and didn’t I don't know why - but he wants to fly - he goes sky diving (although not enough any more) - and I don't see why he refuses to honor his dreams....
Suggestions on how to encourage him to seek this (or any dream) would be help full I have told him that I am with him 110% and that if it will make him happy then he should go for it =) what else is there to do?

If he really wants it, then it is up to him to make it happen. You are not responsible for his happiness anymore than he is responsible for his. You are doing what any good partner does. Being supportive.
