Invocation to the Goddess
Mother, we hold your Sun in our eyes. We find new hope for the coming spring. We welcome you to your circle
Invocation to the Young God
Come young God, come with the fire
Lissome& leaping alive with desire
Come with pipe come with Drum
With heartbeats pounding, Come God Come
Invocation to the Ancestors
We call the ancestors to be with us tonight not only the ancestors of this body but also of this soul and this land.
Craft: Candle wreathes – or these can be prepared a head of time if time does not permit
Spiral dance: chant should continue thought that Goddess’s speech.
Chant: The well by Starhawk and Rose May Dance
We will never, never loose our way to the well of her memory.
And the Power, of her living Flame it rise, it will rise again X2
Like the grasses, though the dark, though the soil, to the sun light, we shall rise again
We are thirsting, for the waters of life, we are moving, we shall rise again X2
[Someone shouts] Behold the Fire Goddess!
{As chanting continues the Goddess enters the circle, either fire spinning or carrying a candle in each hand, She should move around the circle pausing to bless each person. When she reaches the circle center she speaks.}
I bring the flame to
light your fires
I come with the Sun
{Either passes out and lights wreaths – or if they were crafted in ritual then simply lights them}
As the light move
from me to you let it kindle your soul
the Sun has returned!
[Chanting should come to a natural end]
Cake and ale – that you may never hunger that you may never thirst
Thank “everyone” and devoke
Open the circle
