A much celebrated day
May. 9th, 2005 03:30 pmToday is
rainysummerday 's and
elessar420 's Birthday, So Happiness to them for all thier years to come.
Also, my brother (
swem) GRADUATED TODAY ! SO HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO HIM !
So not to write about the coolness of it before it runs out of my head.
Okay my brother made a super wise choice toi attend an Alternitive High School in the beginging of his spring "senior" at AHS. Aftrer stuggleing with geomerty for what sems like FOREVER he actually got all his creidits 2 weeks ago and finished his comunity servce a few days ago. At his school they are self paced, there is no attenandace policy, they can take the classes that they want when they want, and school goes from like 8-3 or 12-4. It's actually really something i would have liked to do given the option. Another example of the coolness: for his US History "final" he beaded a head band and wrote a explaination of it. At any rate i got there about 1:15pm and there where drums playing and i thought "shit i'm late" (he was a drum nerd at AHS)- no i was not late - actually my brother wan't even there yet! It was almost 1:30pm and my family was starting to get a bit antsy so i called (they all though he'd yell at me) he said he was on his way but the traffic was bad. he strolled through at about 1:31pm, ran about for a bit getting his last things in order. we all went into a classroom and mikael read his exit essay ( at lighning speed) and then he talked about what all he did while he was there - then his teachers read their recomnidation letters, and his girlfriend wrote one as well. after they all went to smoke (addicts) he was presented with his star, and then they announced over the PA that he had graduated and every one comes out their classes and he walkes through the halls (we got pictures) and then we all go home.
No the funny thing is mikeal was uncomfortable with the attention - so i have desided that when i have kids i'm going to do that every year they are in scholl - i mean i can't do the walking the halls thing - but keeping a book of their best stuff and then at the end of the year get notes from their teacher's.
