After that, you get to do it all over again in reverse, coming down from the pregnancy hormones. Postpartum depression is basically that. Notice when you're gearing up, and go sit down and take a breather, is my suggestion for that.
With your first baby, you're going to think you have to make everything perfect. Get this done, that done, make that ready, do this, do that. My suggestion? Calm down. Breathe. The baby will be here in 9 months and that's more than enough time to be 'ready'. It doesn't take special things, that's only if you WANT to. And that should be a fun and special thing, not a stress thing. Second hand is cool, a borrowed thing here and there is great, you do NOT have to have a 'theme', it's about enjoying your baby most of all. All that other stuff is superfluous.
*hugs* thanks
Date: 2009-06-05 12:04 pm (UTC)the crib dresser and changing table are coming from my mom's house (3rd generation in that crib set) and mom is handy with a sewing machine, and she's a designer so i'm sure the theme will take care of its self ;)

Took me a while to get that one down, I was in a spaz about it too. ^.^ I thought she had a marvelous point, and having four, she really couldn't fight it, like I felt I could, with just one.
In fact, the cleaner things are, the less they build immunities to it, and thus have worse allergies than they could have! Korigan gets like, one illness a year, despite allergies to cats and we have four of those. =) Intentionally broke that allergy down. And he stays pretty healthy because he doesn't live in a hospital environment!
It does get frustrating when you can't just 'get up and do', and I'm afraid if you're a 'do-er', you'll never quite be satisfied with it til it's over and you've got a few months under your belt. It's okay to move though! One of the big fallacies of pregnancy is that you should 'take it easy'. If you take it too easy, you won't have a good time of it when in labor, or trying to get your body back after. Keep moving, exercise as much as you can to keep those muscles limber and strong. You'll need them. Don't gain too much weight either. That's as bad as not gaining enough (that one I did know.. 30 pounds over)...Basically, it's not how you picture it at first. The exercise is good for ya, and really helps the labor, is all I mean!
Really, hon, in all honesty, you can do, though you'll get tired. Do a little, take a break, do a little, take a nap. That's how I did it, and you will be much happier!
And no, the monster part goes away. This is being a MOM. ;)
