Are you thinking you might be clinically depressed or bi-polar? I highly recommend that if you suspect this, you get a referral from your physician to see a psychiatrist. Do not let your primary care physician to prescribe you any medication unless you see a psychiatrist. Many physicians, while well intentioned, are not really trained to handle the diagnosis. I went through severe depression, and fortunately my physician had the presence of mind to know that he was over his head and referred me to a psychiatrist.

when my parents divorced i spent 6 years in couciling - mom is bi-polar& OCD (she was anorexic for most of her life) and dad is a violent bi polar. SOOO they said that i seemed pretty normal and barring any really bad depression swings i should pro'ly be okay.

i was just think about how i've been feeling lately - i would not ever go to a family doctor for that ever - i have a shrink that i love and does not think drugs are the answer to everything. she would rather try to deal with the issues causing the cycle then try and medicate something that happens in cycles like this ......

I just got my insurance stuff taken care of so i will be able to do that again soon ... for slightly cheaper.

Sometimes you need the meds, at least untill the root problems can be addressed. You can't always solve the problem while suffering the symptoms.
